Immaculate gardens create a peaceful retreat.
The hotel was overall disappointing. The bed in Room 28 was painfully uncomfortable, ruining my first night and day. After requesting a change, I was moved to Room 26, where I faced a cramped shower room with a tiny sink. The lack of staff presence made it difficult to get assistance when needed.

Nothing was too much trouble for the lady of the house. She was very good at her job. She made us very welcome and had a lovely happy disposition. All in all a lovely place to stay------ it won't be our last.
The only negative point was the fact that our holiday had to end sometime.

Charming stay with good breakfasts
Woke up every morning to a delectable full English breakfast that was superb. The gardens were immaculate, while the owner's personal touch was nice.
Though the location was serene, we found ourselves quite far from the vibrant heart of Torquay, making it a trek to enjoy local dining and entertainment.

Just spent 3 nights at Elmington House! The breakfast was excellent, with fresh options and the staff, especially Lisa. Only downside was the bathroom door lock not working properly, but overall an awesome stay!

A real gem of a hotel, lovely sea views from a four poster bedroom. Very friendly staff and good food. Spotlessly clean everywhere and quiet. Within walking distance from Torquay Railway Station but you could not hear the trains so very convenient for train travellers.
None - excellent all round

I had an really good 4-night stay as a solo traveler in a Single Room, where every detail was thoughtfully designed from the charming vintage décor to the immaculate cleanliness. The outdoor heated swimming pool was a good treat, and enjoying an really good full English breakfast with fine sea views made every morning special. Liza, the owner, was the perfect host.

The staff were pleasant and helpful - even to swapping rooms so my mother and I could be nearer each other without us asking. The breakfast was very nice and plentiful - no stinting. Great location for the trains and town - but quiet enough to not be noisy. Nice gardens and rooms. Description given on website accurate - no nasty surprises.
